Reggie Jackson on Russell Westbrook's comment: 'He probably wishes it ended better'
In a recent interview, Oklahoma City Thunder star point guard Russell Westbrook was asked about Detroit Pistons point guard and former teammate Reggie Jackson.
Westbrook simply responded: "Who?"
The moment caught fire on social media, and a lot of fuss was made over Westbrook dogging one of his former teammates.
But Jackson, who was vocal about wanting to run his own team while in Oklahoma City, had an interview with David Aldridge at NBA.com and gave Westbrook the benefit of the doubt. Here's why Jackson thinks Westbrook dissed him:
"Aldridge: Was the reaction in Oklahoma City disappointing? I mean, Russ was kind of throwing shade at you.
Jackson: He probably just wishes it would have ended better ... people forget that there were three really great years, three and a half, really great years where the guys battled. It just wasn't in our fortune for us to be there forever. I had to take my opportunity to try and lead a team. And I'm enjoying every moment of it."
