Raptors' DeMarre Carroll on injury: 'I'm moving ahead of schedule'
Toronto's DeMarre Carroll, who is the highest-paid player on the Raptors, underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery on January 6.
Carroll, who's battled injury all season, has played just five games since December 6. According to SB Nation, Carroll spoke to media today for the first time since his surgery. Carroll said he felt "good" since his inflammations were cleaned during the operations. The good news for fans of Toronto? He thinks he's making great pace with his recovery.
"They haven't given me any indication, but I'm moving ahead of schedule. I'm just happy that I'm moving ahead of schedule. I just want to get back out there on the court," said Carroll, in the report. "And get back out there and play at a level I know I can play at, what I should be playing at."

Carroll averages 11.7 points with 4.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals during 23 games this season. Last year with Atlanta, Carroll averaged 12.6 points with 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
Last time we heard from Carroll, he didn't appear to be in such great spirits. This news is uplifting for the Raptors -- Carroll was playing through injury earlier this season.
“I still felt like I could go out there and compete,” said Carroll, via SportsNet.ca. “But when I went to the doctor they were like, ‘whoa, we need to get something done, man.’”
