Raptors' DeMar DeRozan talks Kobe Bryant, former teammate Lou Williams

The media circus caused by Kobe Bryant's retirement tour continues in Toronto when the Lakers come to town, now landing on Raptors star DeMar DeRozan.

When asked about Kobe's final season, DeRozan said it "definitely sucks" and added that he's been a lifelong Kobe fan and grew up watching him play. DeRozan added that it's been an honor to compete against "one of the greats" in this basketball era.

Much like Kevin Durant, who recently had some sharp words about Kobe critics, DeRozan also said it was unfair to scrutinize Bryant for his 2015 struggles.

"That man played at the highest level of basketball for 18 years, you've gotta give him credit no matter how he go out," said DeRozan.

Later in the interview, DeRozan was asked about Lakers guard Lou Williams -- who earned NBA's Sixth Man of the Year for Toronto last season.

DeRozan said Toronto's bench is "definitely different" without Williams, but that he still talks to Williams every day.

"That's still a good friend," said Williams. "He for sure wanted to come back ... He felt like he had found a home."
