Quincy Pondexter hopes to have 'a lot better season' than he did last year

Quincy Pondexter played the best basketball of his career last season, after coming to the Pelicans as part of a three-team trade with the Celtics and the Grizzlies.

Pondexter got an expanded role once he arrived in New Orleans, and he made the most of it. He averaged a career-best nine points and 3.1 rebounds in 27.8 minutes per contest, while knocking down 43.3 percent of his looks from htree-point distance.

Pondexter underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in May, and has not yet been cleared to resume basketball activities. But when he does, he hopes to have an even better season next year.

“I’ve been really focused on my body and getting it in the best shape possible right now, even though I’m hurt,” said Pondexter. “I’m looking forward to this season and I’m hoping to not miss much time, if any time at all. I’m looking forward to having a lot better season than I did last year.”
