Minnesota's Love sidelined by strained left groin

Published Apr. 2, 2011 8:54 p.m. ET

Minnesota forward Kevin Love didn't make the trip for the Timberwolves' game Saturday night against the Memphis Grizzlies because of a strained left groin.

Love, the team's leading scorer and rebounder, missed three games in the last 10 days because of the injury. The 6-foot-10 Love, in his third year out of UCLA, played 35-plus minutes Friday night in a 111-92 loss to the Miami Heat. He had 18 points and seven rebounds.

Love, averaging 20.2 points and 15.2 rebounds, had 53 straight double-doubles earlier this season.

In addition to Love, Minnesota center Darko Milicic also wasn't with the team. Milicic, averaging 8.9 points and 5.3 rebounds, sprained his left ankle in the first quarter against Miami.
