'Melo bails out Knicks in OT, passes Bird on scoring list in process

When rookie Kristaps Porzingis committed a horrible foul in the closing seconds on Wednesday, it looked like it could have cost the Knicks a victory. Instead, it gave Carmelo Anthony a piece of history.
New York led the Utah Jazz 99-96 at Madison Square Garden after Porzingis made two free throws with 9.9 seconds left in regulation, but the big man committed his sixth foul on Gordon Hayward's 3-point attempt with 2.4 seconds to go, and the Utah forward hit all three free throws to force overtime.
But Anthony scored four of his game-high 30 points to lift the Knicks to a 118-111 win, and lift himself over Larry Bird for 31st on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
