Mark Cuban can't get over the Lamar Odom trade

Published Mar. 25, 2015 11:42 a.m. ET

Nearly four years ago, the Dallas Mavericks sent a top-20 protected first-round pick along with a sizable trade exception to the Los Angeles Lakers for Lamar Odom, a two-time NBA champion and reigning Sixth Man of the Year.

Recently, Mark Cuban was asked about the deal. He didn't mince words.

On paper, Dallas won that trade. In real life, it was a complete disaster. Odom appeared in just 50 games with the Mavericks before the team traded him the following summer. Things got ugly. He averaged 6.6 points per game and made just 25.3 percent of his three pointers.

Odom eventually signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, but lasted only one season there as well. He's been out of the NBA ever since.
