Ricky Ledo finally has a permanent home in New York ... at least for a week or so.

The Knicks announced Wednesday morning they have signed the second-year guard to a deal for the rest of the season after trying him out on a series of 10-day contracts. From the Knicks' press release:

New York Knickerbockers President Phil Jackson announced today that the team has signed guard Ricky Ledo for the remainder of the season.

Ledo, 6-7, 195-pounds, is averaging 9.5 points and 3.4 rebounds over 21.1 minutes in eight games with the Knicks and 5.9 points and 2.2 rebounds over 13.9 minutes in 13 games with both Dallas and New York on the season. He signed the first of two consecutive 10-day contracts with the Knicks on Mar. 19.

Though the full terms of the agreement haven't been worked out yet, a usual contract structure coming off a series of 10-days would be a guaranteed minimum for this season with an unguaranteed minimum deal for next year. Of course, "this season" just means the final five games of the year. For now, though, we can only speculate on the details of Ledo's contract with the Knicks.

New York has found some luck with guys on 10-days this year. Langston Galloway is a contender to make an All-Rookie team. There's a chance Lou Amundson could stick around for another season, as well. The jury's still out on Ledo, but he was a high recruit coming out of high school and has shown spurts of talent as a pro. If you're a 15-62 team, why not sign him to see what he can do during the season's final run?
