The Cleveland Cavaliers have entered the title-contending chat.

The Cavs reportedly acquired Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell in a blockbuster trade on Thursday, sending a trove of players and draft picks to Salt Lake City.

Cleveland dealt Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji, Collin Sexton, three unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps to the Jazz, according to ESPN. Sexton will sign a fully guaranteed four-year, $72 million deal with Utah.

Mitchell, a three-time All-Star, has averaged 23.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists through five NBA seasons. The No. 13 pick from the 2017 draft turns 26 next week and is widely seen as one of the NBA's top young talents.

His new teammate Darius Garland was immediately pumped about the deal:

The New York Knicks were heavily favored to land Mitchell in recent weeks, but that light faded when they agreed to a 4-year, $120 million extension with soon-to-be fourth-year guard RJ Barrett.

The Jazz, meanwhile, appear to be entering full rebuild mode after having also dealt Rudy Gobert earlier this offseason to the Minnesota Timberwolves for another pile of draft picks.
