Solid showing in win Mitchell recorded 15 points (7-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight assists and two rebounds across 25 minutes in Tuesday's 132-116 preseason loss to Orlando.

Impact Mitchell struggled from beyond the arc but made up for his shooting woes with a strong playmaking performance, leading Cleveland with eight assists while committing just two turnovers. The veteran guard also paced the Cavaliers in scoring and should remain the focal point of Cleveland's offense heading into the regular season.

Productive in preseason win Mitchell ended with 11 points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one steal across 26 minutes in Sunday's 119-105 preseason win over Orlando.

Impact As was the case in Thursday's preseason loss to the Celtics, Mitchell scored 11 points versus Orlando. However, he was inefficient when shooting the ball and has now shot a combined 1-for-6 from deep in his first two preseason appearances of the year. Mitchell, who agreed to a four-year, $273 million contract extension in July, is coming off a solid 2025-26 campaign, averaging 27.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals over 33.5 minutes per contest in 70 regular-season games. The 2017 No. 13 overall pick does a lot of things well, and assuming he continues to stay healthy, he should be a top-15 fantasy producer in any format.

Scores 11 points in limited action Mitchell recorded 11 points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and three assists across 17 minutes in Thursday's 124-113 preseason loss to the Celtics.

Impact Mitchell played exclusively in the first half as Cleveland distributed minutes evenly among its starters, with all five logging exactly 17 minutes. With Cleveland prioritizing rotation evaluation during the preseason, Mitchell's modest workload shouldn't raise concerns about his regular-season offensive role. He should remain one of the team's go-to options ahead of the regular-season opener against the 76ers on Thursday, Oct. 22.

'100 Percent committed' to Cleveland Cavaliers guard Sam Merrill reported that Mitchell is "100 percent committed" to the organization, Daniel Chavkin of The Sporting News reports.

Impact Mitchell agreed to a four-year, $275 million extension during the offseason after leading the Cavaliers to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2025-26. While the new contract should have extinguished any doubt regarding Mitchell's desire to remain with the organization moving forward, teammate Sam Merrill recalled how things went during the last extension. "Donovan's 100 percent committed here," Merrill stated. "I remember when he signed his last extension, when everyone thought he was going to leave and there [were] questions about it." The 30-year-old has spent the last four seasons in Cleveland after beginning his career with Utah. He most recently appeared in 70 regular-season games, averaging 27.9 points, 5.7 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 33.5 minutes per contest. Mitchell has been a top fantasy contributor for years, and his all-around production gives him top-10 value in all fantasy formats.
