James Johnson, DeMarre Carroll's replacement: 'I played like poo'
With news that Toronto's DeMarre Carroll will miss extended time after undergoing surgery, his replacement James Johnson offered some interesting self-analysis.
Carroll missed Toronto's most recent game, against the Cavaliers. He was replaced by James Johnson. In 22:40 minutes, Johnson recorded just 5 points while failing to record a rebound or an assist. His plus/minus was a dreadful -19. He managed just one steal, but fouled three times. His .400 shooting percentage was a significant drop from his season average of .551.
“I played like poo,” said Johnson, according to the Toronto Sun's Ryan Wolstat.

Johnson is expected to start once again when the Raptors play the Nets on Wednesday evening. Hopefully for Toronto fans, he keeps his confidence just a bit higher than he displayed in this recent interview.
Johnson, however, continues a trend of players on Toronto offering honest, insightful self-criticism. Patrick Patterson recently discussed his poor shooting and Carroll spoke (though vaguely) about the severity of his own injury.
