How did Drake's lyrics inspire Spurs forward David West?

San Antonio Spurs forward David West is one of the NBA's toughest players. His no-nonsense attitude makes opponents second guess just how hard they want to battle with West for a ball.
You'd assume, then, that a passionate and sentimental artist like Drake wouldn't be on West's playlist, bumping in his car or streaming through his headphones. You'd be wrong.
Speaking with the San Antonio Express-News, West revealed that a specific lyric from Drake's smash summer diss track "Back to Back" has inspired him to change how he views social media:
The lyric: “… Trigger fingers turn to twitter fingers,” as Drake responded to a feud with another hip-hip artist, Meek Mill, who took to Twitter to express his dispute with the Canadian rapper. Using the lyric to his own benefit, West said: “I don’t want to be that Twitter fingers type dude no more. Something about that (lyric) just…” When it was suggested he’d take a step back and avoid speaking on social issues altogether, West responded: “Not take a step back. I’m not going to be typing. You want to ask me a question, you want to talk about something, talk to me.”
It wasn't Drake's intention, on a song that crushes fellow rapper Meek Mill, to reach out and touch an NBA bruiser like West. But that's exactly what happened.
