MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph won't play Friday against the Miami Heat due to the death of his mother, Mae Randolph.
The Grizzlies issued a statement Friday on the death of Mae Randolph saying, ''Zach and his mother had an inseparable bond.''
Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said in a statement that he would never forget ''the unbridled joy she took in attending our games'' and noted that ''Mae raised Zach to be a man with an enormous heart, who is deeply committed to enriching the lives of those in need, and for that legacy we are forever indebted to her.''
