DeMarcus Cousins suspended for yelling at George Karl

Whenever it feels like your life can't get any worse, just look at the Sacramento Kings. The most dysfunctional franchise in the NBA suspended DeMarcus Cousins on Thursday. He'll miss Friday's home game against the Orlando Magic:

During Wednesday's loss to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the two-time All-Star let his emotions get the better of him—again—and was seen yelling at Kings head coach George Karl during a timeout.

Despite assistant coaches and teammates literally standing in front of Cousins to calm him down and defuse the situation, the 25-year-old refused to let up.

This is unfortunate. Strictly from a talent standpoint, Cousins is second to nobody at the center position. He's averaging 27.4 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, shooting a respectable 34.1 percent behind the three-point line on 182 total attempts.

He's a hurricane, and sometimes—when he's dropping 35 points and 15 rebounds in his sleep—that's a good thing. But since the All-Star break, Sacramento is 3-7, and its offense is slightly more efficient with Cousins on the bench. Every other day it feels like these two sides have reached a breaking point, but Kings' ownership has no interest surrendering a top-15 player right before they open a new stadium.

That line of thought kind of makes sense, but it's not like Cousins is the difference between the Kings being good and bad; their relationship seems to get more toxic by the day.

It's only a matter of time before Boogie finds himself in a different jersey. Hopefully he's less frustrated by whichever team employs him next.
