Colangelo won't rule out Derrick Rose for 2016 Olympics

When Derrick Rose made a last-minute decision to skip USA Basketball's Las Vegas minicamp in order to stick to his offseason training regimen, it was worth wondering if that would be the end of his chances of playing for Team USA in the 2016 Olympics.
USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo had said attendance was mandatory, and plenty of players, like Kevin Love and Kevin Durant, showed up as a sign of respect for the program, even though they'd be unable to participate in activities due to recovering from injuries.
But Colangelo isn't willing to completely rule Rose out just yet.
"I always said you never shut the door entirely on anyone," Colangelo said, via ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "I mean, why? To prove what? Was I disappointed Derrick [Rose] wasn't here? Sure. Because, we want the best for him. We want the best for him. We want him to get back to the level that he once was. So let's just see how things go in the future."
