Carmelo Anthony to return to the court with Team USA

Published Aug. 11, 2015 2:30 p.m. ET

We knew Carmelo Anthony was set to attend Team USA minicamp in Las Vegas, beginning Aug. 11 and running until Aug. 13. What we've learned now is that Melo will actually play—for the first time since his knee surgery.

From ESPN's Marc Stein:

Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that Anthony, meanwhile, is likewise planning to jump into the light, noncontact practices scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday on the campus of UNLV.

The last time Anthony actually played in a basketball game was during the All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden back in February. That's five months off, though we have seen some videos released on his Facebook page that show him practicing in the meantime.

Now, let's just see if Team USA is going to run the triangle, too.
