Blazers' Camby to have MRI on left knee

Published Dec. 21, 2011 12:00 a.m. ET

Trail Blazers center Marcus Camby was ruled out for Portland's preseason finale against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night after tweaking his left knee during warmups.

Camby will have an MRI as a precaution on Thursday, but coach Nate McMillan didn't believe the injury was serious.

Kurt Thomas started in place of the 15-year veteran.

LaMarcus Aldridge will start for Portland against the Jazz after the 6-foot-11 forward missed the start of training camp to receive treatment for Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, a condition which causes the ventricles of the heart to prematurely contract.

Aldridge averaged a team-high 21.8 points to go with 8.6 rebounds last season.

Jazz second-year pro Derrick Favors will start at forward Wednesday in place of Paul Millsap, who was out again with right quad tendinitis.
