Ragan engaged to long-time girlfriend

NASCAR Sprint Cup driver David Ragan has already set his 2012 offseason plans - he'll be getting married.

Ragan recently proposed to long-time girlfriend Jacquelyn Ann Butler and the two are planning a December 2012 wedding.

Butler, of Greenwood, S.C., graduated from UNC Charlotte earlier this year with a degree in meteorology. She and Ragan met on the campus in 2006.

They share a love of racing – and both won races in 2011. Ragan won the July 2 Cup race at Daytona International Speedway and Butler won the Oct. 15 Better-Half Dash charity race at Charlotte.

Ragan just completed his fifth full year in the Sprint Cup Series and is working on landing a spot for 2012 after his Roush Fenway Racing team entered the offseason without sponsorship.

The Unadilla, Ga., native was the 2007 NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie of the year and finished a career-best 13th in Sprint Cup points in 2008.

He earned his first career Cup win this season at Daytona.
