Practice 1 results for Windows 10 400 from Pocono Raceway
Team Penske's Brad Keselowski paced Friday's lone practice session for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars at Pocono Raceway.
The driver of the No. 2 Ford posted the fastest lap of 50.961 seconds at 176.606 miles per hour. The 2011 Pocono winner was quick in both race trim and qualifying trim.
For most of the session teams worked on race trim for Sunday's Windows 10 400, with many swapping over to qualifying trim in the final half hour of the session.
Joe Gibbs Racing's Matt Kenseth was second-fastest, with a lap of 51.038 seconds at 176.339 mph. Denny Hamlin, Austin Dillon, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Ryan Newman, Kyle Busch, Jamie McMurray and Kurt Busch rounded out the top 10.
J.J. Yeley ran the most laps of the session, 21, but was 32nd-fastest on the speed charts.
Among those searching for speed during Friday's lone practice were Tony Stewart (22nd), Paul Menard (23rd), Danica Patrick (24th), Greg Biffle (27th) and Kasey Kahne (35th).
The Sprint Cup Series have two more practice sessions on Saturday, with group qualifying scheduled for 4:45 p.m. ET on Friday.
