Red Sox recall 3B Holt to replace Iglesias

The Boston Red Sox have recalled third baseman Brock Holt after trading Jose Iglesias to the Detroit Tigers.

Holt was in the starting lineup on Wednesday night against the Seattle Mariners. He hit in Iglesias' usual ninth spot and played his position.

Iglesias was part of a three-team, seven-player trade on Tuesday that sent right-hander Jake Peavy to the Red Sox from the Chicago White Sox.

Holt was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket where he hit .264 with one homer and 20 RBI in 69 games. In his first stint with Boston this season, he batted .290 with eight RBIs in 10 games. The Red Sox obtained him from the Pittsburgh Pirates in a six-player trade last December.
