Near-perfect game earns Tigers' Galarraga Corvette

Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga has been given a 2010 Corvette convertible by General Motors for his near-perfect game that was wiped out by an umpire's blown call.

The automaker surprised the right-hander before the start of Thursday's home game against the Cleveland Indians.

Galarraga retired 26 straight Indians' batters in Wednesday night's 3-0 win. His bid for a perfect game ended when the 27th batter bounced to first baseman Miguel Cabrera. Video replays show Cabrera's toss to Galarraga at first beat Jason Donald, but umpire Jim Joyce ruled the runner safe.

Joyce later admitted he made the wrong call.
