Mets playing the waiting game on Ben Zobrist
The New York Mets have made it no secret that they're trying their hardest to get Ben Zobrist, but the ball is on the player's side of the court now.
According to Buster Olney at ESPN, the Mets feel they made the best pitch possible and are awaiting a decision:

After an extremely productive 2015 in which he slashed .276/.359/.450 -- combined with his ultra-versatility -- the 34-year-old Zobrist has had no shortage of suitors this offseason.

The Mets could appeal to Zobrist by having the lion's share of innings at second base, while playing with what seems to be a team on the precipice of sustained success -- the 2015 NL Champs have a young, star-studded starting staff and a solid roster, headlined by David Wright.
