CLEVELAND (AP) Chicago Cubs rookie Kyle Schwarber, called up to the majors Tuesday, got his first major league hit with a second-inning triple against the Cleveland Indians.

Schwarber, the Cubs designated hitter, hit a hard ground ball under the glove of first baseman Carlos Santana in Wednesday's game. The ball rolled into the right field corner and scored Chris Coghlan from first base for Schwarber's first career RBI.

Schwarber, the fourth pick in last year's draft, made his major league debut Tuesday after being called up from Double-A Tennessee. He caught the top of the ninth and struck out in his first at-bat.

He will DH in interleague games at Cleveland and Minnesota and will then be sent to Triple-A Iowa.
