Chicago Cubs reliever Casey Coleman made his major league debut on Monday night, making his family the fourth to have three generations play in the big leagues.

Coleman, who was called up before the game, entered in the sixth inning. He is the third generation of the Coleman family to pitch in the majors, a major league first. His grandfather Joe pitched in the majors from 1942-55, his father Joe pitched in the big leagues from 1965-79, including a stint with the Cubs in 1976.

They are the fourth family to have to have three generation of major league players, joining the Bells, Boones and Haristons.

Coleman pitched 2 1-3 innings, allowing eight hits and six runs in the Cubs' 18-1 loss to Milwaukee.
