Published Jun. 11, 2012 11:06 p.m. ET

The Braves have recalled right-hander Cory Gearrin from Triple-A Gwinnett to replace Julio Teheran, who was with the team for one fill-in start.

Gearrin was 1-1 with a 7.85 ERA in 18 games with Atlanta in 2011. He is 3-0 with a 1.65 ERA and seven saves with Gwinnett this season.

The 26-year-old Gearrin joined the Braves' bullpen for Monday night's game against the New York Yankees.

Teheran gave up four hits and four runs in 4 1-3 innings in Sunday's 12-4 loss to Toronto. He was optioned back to Gwinnett following the game.

Teheran filled in for Tim Hudson, who missed a start due to bone spurs in his left ankle. Hudson, who says his ankle feels better, is scheduled to start Wednesday against the Yankees.
