Fantasy Basketball Top 10 Waiver Adds (March 7) | |||
Player | Position | Games | Note |
Shabazz Muhammad | SF | 3 | He's hit double-figures in eight of his last nine games and he can help out on the glass as well. Minnesota should give him a long look down the stretch with nothing left to play for. |
Manu Ginobili | SG | 4 | He's back from the scary testicle injury and won't hurt you in any category. His minutes will be low, but he's a sneaky source of assists if you need them. |
Nikola Mirotic | PF | 3 | Recently made his return after missing 16 games. He's hit or miss with scoring nights overall, but the threes and boards will be there. |
Mirza Teletovic | PF | 3 | Hopefully you listened last week and picked up Alex Len, who I've been screaming about for weeks. His frontcourt partner is still a good pickup as well, if you need threes and steady scoring. |
David Lee | PF | 3 | It was hard to see this coming, but Lee has three double-doubles in six games with the Mavericks. Rick Carlisle clearly wants to use him, so go get him. |
Gary Harris | SG | 3 | Harris won't light the world on fire in multiple categories, but he gets big minutes and should boost your steal totals, which is always hard to find. |
Norris Cole | PG/SG | 4 | Surprise, surprise. Eric Gordon is out for the season after re-injuring his finger, which opens up lots of playing time for Cole once again. |
Mario Chalmers | PG | 4 | The Grizzlies are beginning to get creative with their lineups, and Chalmers has shown the ability to play next to Mike Conley. He'll drive you crazy, but he's worth rostering if you really need guard help. |
Jerami Grant | PF | 3 | Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel have been banged up, which opens the door for Grant. He's not a scorer, but rebounds, blocks and steals should come in bunches this week. |
Ian Mahinmi | C | 3 | Myles Turner is beginning to slow down, which makes Mahinmi a little more fantasy relevant. He can pinch in with blocks and rebounds if you're desperate up front. |
It's tough to separate the small sample size fool's gold from what will be real the rest of the year. This week you can either go with upside (Muhammad, Mirotic) or consistency (Harris, Teletovic). Where you sit in the standings should help you decide where to go.
In the short-term, Grant is a great pickup for this week. Someone has to do the dirty work with Okafor and Noel out, and that's what Grant specializes in.
Cole isn't a sexy pickup, but with the Pelicans playing four games and Tyreke Evans still being out, he's bound to bump into some productive performances once again.
Safe to cut: Lou Williams, Justise Winslow, Danilo Gallinari
