Former Louisville football player DeVante Parker had a great start to his season against the New England Patriots, earlier Sunday afternoon.

The Louisville football team could always depend on Parker whenever he was in a Cardinal uniform. He was a guy that Teddy Bridgewater could throw the ball up to with confidence that he would go up and pull the down down. The Dolphins are looking for him to become that player at the NFL level in Miami.

Parker has dealt with some tough injuries so far in his young NFL career. Last season, he missed most of the year, but was able to become a difference maker for the Dolphins at the end of the year. He finished the 2015 season with 26 receptions, 494 yards, and three touchdowns.

At 6-foot-3 and 211 pounds, Parker has the size and vertical to become one of the best deep threat receivers in all of the National Football League. The Dolphins new head coach Adam Gase is an offensive guru, which should help Parker get his career off the ground. That may have started earlier today in New England.

In the Dolphins 31-24 loss to the Patriots earlier today, Parker was able to make eight receptions for 108 yards on 13 targets. He and fellow receiver Jarvis Landry are going to be one of the better young combos in the entire NFL. Parker is the deep threat, while Landry can get underneath the coverage and make people miss with his speed.

It’s great to see Parker get off to such a nice start to the season. Hopefully he can continue to stay healthy in Miami because if he can, then he will have a very nice professional career in the National Football League.
