Jim Harbaugh took his magical mystery tour all the way to the Supreme Court
Michigan football's first preseason camp is nearing, so Jim Harbaugh's opportunities to see the world outside of football might soon be limited for the time being.
If that is the case, he left the college football world with one last image to remember his first winter, spring and summer as the coach at his alma mater: Harbaugh tried to talk United State Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas into becoming a Michigan fan.
Although the Wall Street Journal reports that might not have been his most successful recruiting job of the season ("I got the feeling it would be a distant second" to Nebraska, Harbaugh told the WSJ), it was yet another example of how there seems to be no challenge Harbaugh is not willing to take on.
He described Thomas as "one of the most enthusiastic people" he has met and reported seeing a version of the Declaration of Independence written in stone, taking a picture with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and giving a book about Bear Bryant to Justice Elena Kagan before going on his way.
Not a bad way to spend a day in what has become an unforgettable offseason for Michigan football.
