Georgetown to host six in 2016

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 5:42 p.m. ET

(STATS) - Georgetown will try to take the next step in coach Rob Sgarlata's third season.

The Hoyas, who went 4-7 last year - winning one more game than in their first season under Sgarlata - will play six opponents at Cooper Field in an 11-game schedule announced Thursday.

The Hoyas will host Davidson (Sept. 3), Columbia (Sept. 24, Homecoming) and Princeton (Oct. 8) in non-league action and Patriot League foes Lehigh (Oct. 15), Holy Cross (Nov. 5) and Bucknell (Nov. 12).

In addition, the Hoyas will visit Marist (Sept. 10), Harvard (Sept. 30) and Patriot opponents Fordham (Oct. 22), Lafayette (Oct. 29) and Colgate (Nov. 29), the league's defending champion.

"As always, our Patriot League opponents will present us with a great challenge," Sgarlata said. "From top to bottom the entire league is playing at a very high level, highlighted by two teams making the playoffs last season. We continue to challenge ourselves with our nonconference schedule, and will play three Ivy League opponents for the second straight year. We are all excited for the 2016 and I am looking forward to seeing how we meet the challenge."
