FSU Football: Fans React To Derwin James Missing Orange Bowl

FSU football coach Jimbo Fisher confirmed that star safety Derwin James would not play in the Orange Bowl against Michigan on December 30.
Derwin James was injured in the second game of the season against Charleston Southern, and has missed the remaining games after having surgery on his torn meniscus.
It was thought he may be able to return for the Orange Bowl against Michigan, but Jimbo Fisher put those thoughts to bed in his Thursday post-practice interview:
FSU football fans were hoping James would be able to play in the game against Michigan as he’s a true difference maker in the back seven. Check out some of the fan reaction below:
@DGreeny52 @EannCox33 he’s insane. I wish Derwin James was healthy too

.@Russia did you really have to hack Derwin James’ knee and sabotage Florida State’s season like that? Not cool

Thoughts
I think this is the best move for James. He hasn’t played in a couple of months and it’s probably best to continue rehab into the off-season to prepare for the Alabama opener in 2017.
Injuries can happen at any time, but it would be awful for him to come back in this game and re-injure the knee and impact his status for next season.
If he rehabs all the way through the off-season and got hurt next year, at least there would be no questions as to if he was 100 percent or not.
This bowl game, while a big game, is still winnable without James as several players have gotten valuable experience in his absence this season.
