Former Gamecocks Sanders, Swearinger critical of South Carolina in embarrassing loss

South Carolina was thoroughly dominated in a 52-20 loss to Georgia on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs played the role of a bully against Steve Spurrier's team, and there was little in the way of resistance. 

Two former South Carolina players took to social media to express their displeasure over the play of their alma mater. 

D.J. Swearinger was a safety for Spurrier from 2009-13, and is currently a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ace Sanders was a receiver for the Gamecocks and a fellow college teammate of Swearinger. He currently is a free agent, after playing two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Sanders never lost to Georgia during his time in Columbia, and Swearinger went 3-1 versus the Bulldogs.

South Carolina is in a precarious position. The team hasn't displayed any semblance of consistency on either side of the ball. With Perry Orth playing very poorly on Saturday, there's a real chance South Carolina could start freshman Lorenzo Nunez next week versus Central Florida. If this scenario were to unfold, it'd be the third different starting signal-caller for the Gamecocks in four games.
