Zaynah Robinson leads Norfolk State over Shenandoah 78-58

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) Zaynah Robinson had 18 points and seven assists to lead Norfolk State over Division III Shenandoah 78-58 on Sunday night.

Robinson was 7 of 12 from the field. Carrington Ward and Jonathan Wade scored 15 points apiece, both on 5-of-8 shooting, for Norfolk State (1-1), which bounced back from a 78-74 loss at Mississippi on Friday night. Wade made three 3-pointers while Ward chipped in two.

Kaimonne Douglas scored 20 points and Malcolm Clark added 17 for Shenandoah.

Norfolk State had a nine-point lead at halftime, opened the second half with an 11-5 spurt and led by double digits the rest of the way.

The Spartans host Elizabeth City State on Tuesday before traveling to face Vanderbilt at the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational on Friday night.

It was the first meeting between the schools.
