Utah State pulls away from Colorado State 72-59

LOGAN, Utah (AP) Chris Smith scored 19 points and Utah State took advantage of Colorado's State icy 3-point shooting in the second half to take a 72-59 victory on Wednesday night.

The Aggies (13-11, 5-8 Mountain West) led by just two at halftime but the Rams (14-12, 6-7) went 1 of 16 from the arc in the second half as Utah State pulled away.

Jalen Moore added 16 points for the Aggies.

Colorado State made 7 of 15 3-pointers in the first half before going cold, hitting just 9 of 36 shots from the floor in the second half for 25 percent.

The Aggies led for good, 50-45, with 12:25 left after five straight points from Moore. A 13-4 run with six points from Shane Rector and five from Smith made it a 12-point edge with five minutes left and the lead stayed in double figures.

Antwan Scott led the Rams with 18 points.
