Kendall Timmons scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Tulane to a 91-62 rout of Maryland-Eastern Shore on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.

Timmons, who finished with six offensive rebounds, went 9 of 14 from the floor for the Green Wave. Kris Richard and Jordan Callahan each had 13 points, while David Booker added 10 points.

It was the first meeting between the two schools for a basketball game.

Tulane used an 8-0 run that spanned the first and second halves, capped by Booker's layup to give it a 41-30 advantage. The Green Wave's run was highlighted by Timmons' dunk and Ben Cherry's 3-pointer.

Tulane took its largest lead at 31 when Kevin Thomas hit a 3-pointer with 38 seconds to play.

Kevin White led Maryland-Eastern Shore with 17 points. Dishawn Bradshaw and Freddy Obame Obame added 11 points apiece.
