St. Bonaventure beats Fordham 76-72 in OT

NEW YORK (AP) Marcus Posley hit a pair of free throws for the lead and Idris Taqqee sank a late jumper to seal the win as St. Bonaventure beat Fordham 76-72 in overtime on Wednesday night.

The Bonnies (16-6, 8-3 Atlantic 10 Conference) trailed by a point with 1:22 left in the overtime period when Posley sank two free throws to give St. Bonaventure a 73-72 edge. Taqqee made it 75-72 on a jumper with 18 seconds remaining.

Dion Wright led the team with 21 points, Posley finished with 17 points and Jaylen Adams and Denzel Gregg had 11 apiece.

St. Bonaventure trailed 66-62 with 3:09 left in regulation. Adams and Wright combined for four free throws in the stretch to tie it up, 66-all, and force the overtime.

Ryan Rhoomes scored 23 points for the Rams (12-10, 3-8). Joseph Chartouny added 15 points and led the team with 11 rebounds.
