Shabazz Napier throws out first pitch at Fenway
Members of the UConn men’s basketball team were guests of honor at Fenway Park this week.
The Huskies are fresh off their second NCAA national championship in four years, having knocked off Kentucky in the title game earlier this month, and they were recognized on the field Tuesday before the Boston Red Sox’s matchup with the New York Yankees.
Final Four MVP and Roxbury, Mass., native Shabazz Napier had the privilege of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch to Red Sox catcher David Ross — an experience the senior, who grew up a Sox fan, called “surreal.”
And, for someone who claims not to have much baseball ability, Napier didn't do that bad.
