Sam Houston State dominates Houston Baptist 80-68

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) Aurimas Majauskas scored 20 points and dished out six assists as Sam Houston State dominated Houston Baptist 80-68 on Saturday night.

Dakarai Henderson drilled three 3-pointers for 17 points, Albert Almanza added 11 and Jamal Williams had nine points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Bearkats (13-12, 8-4 Southland), who avenged the 70-69 loss to Houston Baptist on Jan. 30.

The victory moves Sam Houston State into a tie with Houston Baptist (14-11, 8-4) for fourth place in the conference standings, trailing league-leading Stephen F. Austin by three games.

Sam Houston State held a 37-33 advantage at the half and won the second period 43-35. The Bearkats, who shot 56 percent in the second half, were 31 of 61 from the floor, while limiting the Huskies to 22-of-52 shooting.

Anthony Odunsi had 16 points to lead Houston Baptist which has lost four straight after winning 10 consecutive games.
