Potts out indefinitely with concussion for Middle Tennessee

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 10:40 p.m. ET

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) Middle Tennessee guard Giddy Potts has been ruled out indefinitely after the Blue Raiders' leading scorer suffered a concussion in a loss to Western Kentucky.

The Blue Raiders updated Potts' status Friday.

Potts has been scoring 15 points per game, and the Athens, Alabama, native ranks second nationally shooting 49.3 percent from 3-point range. He led the nation until shooting 4-of-9 beyond the arc in Thursday night's 78-72 loss to Western Kentucky.

This injury leaves Middle Tennessee without its starting backcourt.

Point guard Jacob Ivory was ruled out for the rest of the season earlier this week after his third concussion in 14 months. Ivory led Conference USA in free throw shooting, averaging 91.2 percent this season.

The Blue Raiders (18-9, 10-5) have three games left in the regular season.
