O'Connell leads Georgia Southern over Radford 65-64

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Shawn O'Connell had career highs with 15 points and nine rebounds and Tookie Brown made the game-winning layup to lift Georgia Southern over Radford 65-64 on Saturday to close out the Savannah Invitational.

Brown finished with nine points and four assists and the Eagles (3-3) shot 48 percent from the floor (25 of 52). Montae Glenn had a career-high three steals.

Tied at halftime and after 13 lead changes, Christian Brown made a free throw to put the Highlanders up 64-63 with 2:03 left, but Brown hit his layup on the next possession and Radford missed two shots in the final 27 seconds.

Justin Cousin's 3-pointer put the Highlanders up 22-19 midway through the first half. Georgia Southern scored eight unanswered points and tied it at 29 at halftime on Brown's three free throws.

Freshman Christian Bradford led Radford (2-4) with 15 points and made 4 of 5 3-pointers. Randy Phillips added 12 and the Highlanders shot 40.7 percent.
