Northern Arizona cruises by North Dakota, 88-63
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) Kris Yanku scored 26 points, including a career-high 14 from the free throw line, and added nine assists to help Northern Arizona beat North Dakota 88-63 on Saturday.
Aaseem Dixon scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Quinton Upshur added 15 points for the Lumberjacks (12-11, 7-3 Big Sky), who hit 13 3-pointers, one off a season-high. Northern Arizona tops the Big Sky in both offensive and defensive rebounding percentage as well as rebounding margin and finished with a 48-38 edge.
The Lumberjacks had two separate 13-0 runs in the first half and led 53-27 at the break.
Quinton Hooker scored 11 points, pulled down seven rebounds, and dished out four assists to lead North Dakota (8-14, 4-7). North Dakota shot just 31 percent from the field, its lowest of the season.
