Illinois junior guard Kendrick Nunn missed Thursday night's game for the birth of his son.

He rejoined the Fighting Illini on Sunday night and quickly made up for lost time. The 6-foot-3 guard posterized Purdue freshman center Caleb Swanigan with a one-handed jam in the second half. That dunk put the Illini up 57-48 with 11:40 remaining in regulation.

Nunn's son, Kason Lee, was born around the same Illinois tipped with Michigan State on Thursday night.

The Chicago native is the team's leading scorer at 18.5 points per game despite missing the first five games of the season due to a thumb injury.
