Nevada rolls to 79-64 win over Loyola Marymount
RENO, Nev. (AP) Elijah Foster scored a career-high 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and Nevada rolled to a 79-64 win over Loyola Marymount on Monday night.
Marcus Marshall also chipped in 18 points, Cameron Oliver added 14 and D.J. Fenner had 10 for Nevada (1-1), which shot 56 percent from the field and had a 34-28 rebounding edge. Foster, a junior, picked up his first double-double and was 7 for 8 from the field and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line.
Nevada took control with a 17-2 run capped by Foster's dunk to make it 30-13 with 6:02 left before the break. The Wolf Pack continued to pull away in the second half.
Brandon Brown and Kelvin Amayo led Loyola Marymount (1-1) with 13 points each. Buay Tuach added 11 points and Shamar Johnson had 10 for the Lions, who hit just 5 of 18 from long range.
