George Washington beats Duquesne 81-74

PITTSBURGH (AP) Kevin Larsen scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as George Washington beat Duquesne 81-74 on Wednesday night.

Larsen was 7 of 13 from the field for the Colonels (19-7, 8-5 Atlantic 10 Conference). Tyler Cavanaugh and Joe McDonald added 14 points apiece and Matt Hart chipped in 11 points. The team had a 39-23 rebounding edge over Duquesne.

Duquesne's Micah Mason scored 14 points in the first half, including four 3-pointers, to help the Dukes (15-11, 5-8) to a 38-31 lead at halftime.

McDonald made a pair of 3-pointers and Hart added a third as part of a 24-15 surge to open the second half and give the Colonels a 55-53 lead with 9:33 to play. They took the lead for good, 63-57, on a 3-pointer by Yuta Watanabe with 6:58 remaining.

Mason had 26 points for the Dukes who have now lost four straight.
