Eastern Kentucky beats Idaho State 91-82 in overtime

CANCUN, Mexico (AP) Nick Mayo scored 21 points, including five in overtime, and Eastern Kentucky defeated Idaho State 91-82 at the Cancun Challenge on Tuesday.

Mayo opened the overtime with a 3-pointer and Dillon Avare dropped in two treys of his own and Isaac McGlone another before Mayo added a tip-in for an 85-80 lead. Zach Charles then made six straight free throws.

Mayo was 8-of-16 shooting, including a short jumper with eight seconds left that sent the game into overtime, and had 10 rebounds. Jaylen Babb-Harrison added 20 points for the Colonels (2-3).

Each team had 29 field goals, including 12 3-pointers each, but EKU was better at the free-throw line, making 21 of 25 to 12 of 20 for Idaho State (0-4).

There were 51 turnovers in the game, 30 by Idaho State which turned into 32 EKU points.

Brandon Boyd scored 25 points and Geno Luzcando had 20 points and 11 rebounds.
