Eastern Illinois rallies to upend Morehead State 84-82 in OT

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) Cornell Johnston sank a 3-pointer in overtime, giving Eastern Illinois the lead for good and upending Morehead State 84-82 on Saturday.

Johnston's winning trey came with 41 seconds remaining in the overtime period and the Panthers (6-12, 3-3 Ohio Valley Conference) held on for the win. Eastern Illinois trailed through most of the second period until Casey Teson hit a 3-pointer to tie the game, 73-73, with seven seconds to go, sending the game into overtime.

Johnston finished with 15 points, 10 assists and five rebounds for the Panthers. A.J. Riley added 22 points off the bench, Demetrius McReynolds had 14 points and Teson had nine points.

Morehead State led 46-38 lead at the break and stretched it in the second half to 71-62 with 3:58 remaining.

Corban Collins scored a career-high 28 points for the Eagles (9-8, 3-2).
