Duke Welcomes ESPN College GameDay Back to Cameron for Rivalry Game

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 2:00 a.m. ET

ESPN College GameDay will be returning to Cameron Indoor Stadium for the second time this season when Duke hosts North Carolina.

ESPN held their first College Gameday show this season in Durham, when Duke hosted Miami. The network announced their top college basketball program will return to Cameron this week, when the Blue Devils host North Carolina in a Top 25 rivalry matchup.

The Blue Devils have been featured on ESPN College GameDay’s for eight straight seasons and Thursday’s Tobacco Road Rivalry will be their 16th appearance. Cameron Indoor Stadium also hosted the show to end the regular season last year when the Tar Heels visited Duke. Former Blue Devils Jay Bilas and Jay Williams will return to campus along with ESPN analysts Rece Davis and Seth Greenberg.

Duke-UNC has been among the top college basketball rivalries of all-time. Located only nine miles apart, both schools consistently have great teams, players, and traditions that make the rivalry special. Both schools have appeared in the last two NCAA championship games, with Duke winning in 2015 and UNC falling to Villanova last year. This week’s matchup will pit 18th-ranked Duke against the No. 8 Tar Heels

ESPN will begin their pregame broadcast Thursday evening at 7:00 before the game tips off at 8:00. However, unlike Saturday shows, this College GameDay broadcast will not be available to fans without tickets to the game.
