Creighton's Doug McDermott recreates Larry Bird Sports Illustrated cover

NCAA hoops star Doug McDermott has channeled his inner Bird on the latest cover of Sports Illustrated.
The SI cover recreates the famous 1977 shot in which Larry Bird posed with a couple of Indiana State cheerleaders. The 1977 cover caption read "College Basketball's Secret Weapon: The Explosive Larry Bird." In 2014, it's "The Dynamic Doug McDermott."
The Creighton forward, the leading scorer in the nation this season, has averaged more than 20 points per game since the 2011-12 season. He recently became the eighth player in NCAA history to score 3,000 points and is seventh on the NCAA all-time leading scorers list.
The only noticeable difference between the Sports Illustrated covers is the length of McDermott's shorts.
