Charlotte rallies to 88-78 win over UTEP

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Braxton Ogbueze scored 24 points and grabbed five rebounds as Charlotte rallied to an 88-78 win over UTEP on Saturday night.

Ogbueze was 9 of 17 from the field including four from distance for the 49ers (12-17, 8-8 Conference USA). Andrien White added 22 points, Joseph Uchebo had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Curran Scott had 12 points.

Charlotte trailed through much of the first half and was down 47-40 at the break.

The 49ers rallied in the second half and a Scott 3-pointer tied it up, 63-63, with 10:57 to play. Ogbueze sank two more from distance as part of a 14-6 run that gave Charlotte a 77-69 lead with 4:30 remaining. Uchebo and Anthony Vanhook combined for seven free throws in the final two minutes to clinch the win.

Lee Moore scored 16 points with seven rebounds, five assists for the Miners (17-13, 9-8).
