Charleston Southern 72, Gardner-Webb 61

Jamarco Warren scored 20 points and Kelvin Martin had 14 points and 12 rebounds as Charleston Southern defeated Gardner-Webb 72-61 Tuesday night for its third consecutive victory.

Jeremy Sexton added 16 points for the Buccaneers (16-14, 9-8 Big South Conference), including three consecutive 3-pointers that gave them a 53-39 lead with 8:50 to play.

The lead was 16 points, 59-43, before the Runnin' Bulldogs (9-20, 4-12) scored the next 10 points. A 3-pointer by Luke Engelken made it 59-53 with 2:37 remaining.

Warren answered with a layup and later added two free throws and assisted on a Martin layup to help widen the lead back to 12 points, 67-55, with 43 seconds left.

The Buccaneers benefited from a big free-throw differential, making 23 of 29 to Gardner-Webb's 8 of 13.

Jon Moore scored 16 points and Engelken 15 for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
