Appalachian State takes down Arkansas-Little Rock 69-63

BOONE, N.C. (AP) Ronshad Shabazz scored 22 points with three steals to lead Appalachian State to a 69-63 win over Arkansas-Little Rock on Thursday night.

Frank Eaves added 11 points, four rebounds and three assists for Appalachian State (8-22, 6-13 Sun Belt).

Josh Hagins made a pair of free throws to bring the Trojans within 64-62 with 56 seconds to play. Shabazz responded with a layup 12 seconds later.

Bennett Holley made 1 of 2 free throws for the Mountaineers to make it a five-point lead before Hagins did the same with 26 seconds to go. Emarius Logan hit two foul shots to seal the win.

Jalen Jackson led Arkansas-Little Rock (27-4, 17-3) with 16 points on 6-for-7 shooting. Hagins added 15 points and Roger Woods contributed 10.

The Mountaineers had 40-28 rebounding lead with 13 boards coming on the offensive end.
